Profile
John graduated from the Royal College of Music in 1999
after studying trumpet with James Watson and Malcolm Smith, and
arrangement and orchestration with Joseph Horowitz and Bob Chilcott.
He began his musical career as a London-based
trumpeter working with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, Royal Opera,
English National Opera, English Sinfonia, City of Birmingham Symphony
Orchestra, Vanessa Mae and Joss Stone among many others.
Moving to the north of England in 2005, he now
concentrates on writing, arranging and producing music across all
genres, as well as running The Audio Concept, an independent music label specialising in niche
classical recordings.

ORCHESTRAL & ENSEMBLE ARRANGEMENTS
Recent arrangements have included projects for the
National Symphony Orchestra, Manchester Camerata, BBC Big Band, Alberti
Brass, Locrian Ensemble, the Qatar Philharmonic Orchestra, Granada
Television, Channel 4, Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds, The Lighthouse
Family and Barry Adamson.
All scores and parts are prepared to the
highest standards using Sibelius and Finale software, and can be
delivered either electronically or printed. Audio previews are also
available for every arrangement so that conductors and performers can
easily familiarise themselves with the music.
CD PRODUCTION
As recording and session producer, John has managed
projects for Superbrass, Alberti Brass, Tim Thorpe, McFarlane String
Quartet, Cantorion Colin Jones, The Thorne Trio, Desford Colliery Brass
Band and Barry Adamson among others. As well as the set of ears in the
box, John can also manage all aspects of music recording including
licensing, contracting and CD pressing.
BACKING TRACK PRODUCTION
Fully produced backing tracks can be
provided for any purpose and in any style. These can be used as
rehearsal or performance tracks for soloists or even as a basis for
commercial recording, using live instruments and performers,
synthesised instruments or a combination of the two to suit your
requirements and budget.
